"Hardcover, Very Good, no dj, 8 x 10 3/4, Burgundy cloth with gilt lettering on front cover & spine, light stain on top of pages from front of book slowly fading out at about page 79, page 47 has been torn and repaired with edges of page chipped, page xxiii & xxiv was loose at some point and has been re glued inplace but edges are chipped, front hinge is weak but not broken, edge wear to cloth especially at corners, light bumping at corners, ... First published in 2 volumes, the second volume was devoted to biographies and photos of selected prominent citizens, it did not appear with the second edition. One of the first recognizable local histories was N. F. Black’s A History of Saskatchewan and the Old North West, published in Regina in 1913. Now a collector’s item, this volume reflects a Eurocentric bias and an interest in the history of “great men” typical of most historical writing of the time.
