This is how she waitressed. All interesting if you're really interested in Wente but a smidge tedious if you're not. With that thematic obligation out of the way, though, Wente accelerates, morphing into the writer we're generally concerned with: the cynical one with the arched brow and the pithy, no-nonsense worldview. There's nothing distinctly Canadian about Wente's dissertations on Google, day spas, or obesity but she certainly has worthwhile things to say about all three.
